Sunset negative

Series of paintings depicting sunsets in negative with the solarisation effect, characteristic of photographs, which becomes particularly interesting once painted by the artist. The exhibition was organized in east London, in the space occupied by Raster during the Frieze art fair, a venue previously used by the IBID Project gallery.

Presentation of three different projects by Bujnowski that move beyond traditional painting. "Visa" is the result of a game played by the artist with the office procedures, "Dusk" is a mixture of painterly work and video while "Museum" introduces third dimension to painting.

On 33 square meters (this was the initial size of Raster's space) approximately 150 oil paintings on canvas have been accumulated. The paintings were in different patterns: bricks, planks, windows, TV sets, blackboards and portraits of the pope. All were available in wholesale and retail quantities. Rafal's paintings are devoid of narrative and painterly special effects, they rather resemble products of a skilled artisan.
