Brick, 1999-2002

A classical painting, first in the series of "Paintings - objects" which replicate ordinary objects in shape, size and appearance. "Mass-produced" by the artist in 100 copies differing slightly in surface and color. An introduction to the minimalist-conceptual poetics of Bujnowski's painting.

 

Bricks, photograph taken during a plein-air event by "Ładnie" group at Marek Firek's allotment in Nowa Huta in May 1999.


Works from the series have been presented, for example, at the "Cheap art from Poland" show organized by the artist within the framework of a student exchange program at St. Martin School of Art in London. The accessibility of art (20 pounds per picture) was an important aspect of the project since its inception.
